TAC 20 How many Starts before Shut Downgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread |
How many starts or how much time before the shut down timer shuts the unit down. From what I have heard they will shut down eventually without being plugged into.

Hey Groucho0,Bite my ass...
There are no "timers" in the TAC 20 to tell it to shutdown...

Brian, If you are in doubt about taking one on service then don't. In this day and age trust me no manufacturer would risk the law suit by putting such timers in there software, if there was a customer would only have to hire a software lawyer like Otis did when they proved Dover and Millar copied there manuals and trouble shooting diagnostics back in the 1990's. If a manufacturer did such a thing they would go on the list as incredibly stupid.

I already have it on maintenance but was just wondering. It's easy to say "don't maintain it" but when it's in a package of a dozen others that are easily maintainable and the tender says "owner to supply all specialty tools", who cares if it dies tomorrow. Just curious what to expect.

Brian,The OST ( owner service tool ) is available to all TAC 20's out there, all the owner or the service company has to do, is buy it.. It will enable you to do anything a TKE Serviceman can do...

Well, almost anything, with the possible exception of binding a new board.
