I have found an old stock certificate for the Savannah, Griffin & North Alabama Railroad Company, dated 1870, that belonged to my great grandfather. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thanks.

I found some information at http://www.railga.com/sgna86map.html It shows that they built the line from Griffin to Carrolton as part of the line from Griffin to Rome. Another web page http://www.railga.com/sgna.html says the company was sold under foreclosure in 1890. Sorry, the stocks worthless.
