We are sorry to report the passing of Rev. Beatrice Hines, pastor of Bethel AME Church, DesMoines, Iowa. Services will be held Friday, January 7, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Bethel AME Church, Champaign, Illinois. Right before the new year, Rev. George Thomas, pastor of St. Paul AME Church, Madison, Wisconsin also passed away. Please pray for the members of the 4th District of the AME Church during this time of bereavement. God bless.

Rev. Hines was a very good friend of mine. I will miss her love for the Lord, her respect for the church of Allen and her concern for the people of God. May God be with her church and her family.

Rev. Hines was an inspiration to us all! I can vividly remember seeing her during worship service, sitting on the front pew praising God! It was not uncommon to see her take her shoes off in order to "get her praise on"! She was my friend, and she will be missed!
