Barclays Bank Hillesden Securities

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

My business was repossessed in 1999 without my knowledge. Through a friend I have learnt that Barclays are now chasing the debt through Hillesden Securities for 13500. I owe CSA 16500. There has been 3 letters the latter threatening a CCJ. The person who lives at the address has rang the company to say I no longer live there. They said they would remove the address off their list. I am now employed. What chance have they of catching me up before the 6 year cut off. Does this still apply? Help

Depends whether you have applied for credit or there is anything to link you to the address you are now at. E-mail me if you want some more detailed advice.

On the other hand, I believe that Hillesden Securities tend to buy debt (if they collect on a contingency basis it tends to be under the name Direct Legal & Collections). It may be that if you are in a position a smaller lump sum offer may do the trick.

stay off any records and lay low. its worth it. get a place council tax included and if need be move after one year. do not apply for any credit and see if your sister or brother or family would open a current account for you so there is no trace of your earnings. there are many of us in this boat believe me! good luck
