WHERE ART THOU, MY LOVE?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Ask Jesus : One Thread

Below is another, very allegorical and symbolic , poem. Try to figure out its true meaning... I wont give it away but will confirm a correct answer.

Where art thou, my love.

1:Where art thou, my love, where hast thou departed, and where art thou in my time of need, that I call upon thee, and seek thee, and yet find thee not, and thou art lost to me, leaving me confused. 2: My mind is clouded, and banished from all reason and fear, I seek solace and comfort, and find meaninglessness and lack of direction, I am sore vexed by thy absence, and am in rage and madness consumed. 3: Yet now my love, after many years, I seek thee still with a distance, and clarity as yet never before, and I weep at thine absence, and wonder if thou art but a Phantom, and not a form to be had. 4: Seek I still, and thou art lost to me, and yet I see thy shadows in stories and in books, accounts similar, and yet not the same, and never to manifest, I hear accounts of hose who claim thy acquaintance, and see thee not. 5: Perchance those who claim knowledge of thee knowest not thee, but knowest they another like unto thee, but not the same, or are mistaken, or perhaps they knowest thee, and thou shalt not reveal thyself to me for reasons yet unknown. 6:Or perhaps I am unworthy of thee, that I cannot claim thee, and can not know thee for some fault that is my own, some inequity that causes me to fail to meet thee, or that prompts thee to hide thyself from me. 7: Or perchance thou art there, waiting for me in eagerness, and my own blindness hath lead me astray, and taken me off course from what shouldst have been a simple Journey, thus leading me far astray. 8: Or, perhaps the journey is long and arduous, and this is why I suspect, that it was never meant to be easy, nor the way readily travelled, but rather through the challenge shouldst I overcome and prevail. 9: But then it is my madness, and confusion, that I must defeat, and find the way, and commit to it , travel it through its hardships and its demands, and faint not away, and then, perhaps, thou shalt comfort me in the end.

Yes, beautiful work Zarove. Reminds me of Songs. You have a talent for conveying a Scripture-like tone in your poems. I don't know if it's purposeful or not, but I certainly enjoy your work. They speak to the heart, IMHO.

Zarove

Archbishop Williams of the English Anglicans described Our Lord as the spastic child.

you talk to him and he never talks back.

is this what you mean?

it is a lovely piece.
