The Vice-Presidential Debate

I watched and listened intently during the debate. However, the person who held my rapt attention was "our own" Gwen Ifill. She was most brilliant with her questions and command of the situation. She is truly an outstanding professional in the news and journalism field.

Congrats indeed! For those who may not know, Barbara is beaming with pride about Presiding Elder Ifill's twin sister. PE Ifill is in the 6th Episcopal District. Gwen, like Vernon Jordan, is a member of Metropolitan AME in Wash DC. She was instrumental in helping to renovate the Christian Ed Building at Metropolitan. Hopefully, she can also serve as Director of Communications for the AMEC and not the gentleman who assumed those duties at the 47th Quadrennial. She is the host and moderator for the PBS news show Washington Week In Review. QED

How proud Rev. O. Urcille Ifill and Eleanor Ifill, Gwen's parents, would be of her. Rev. Ifill was a gifted preacher and administrator and Sister Eleanor was a dedicated Christian mother and missionary worker. I miss them both, but the fruits of their labors can be seen in Gwen and Presiding Elder Earl Ifill.
