The effects of the retirment lawgreenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
It appears that quite a few pulpits will have to be filled by the bishops due to retirement. There are over seven pastors on this presiding elder district passed the mandatory age for retirement. I have been informed that some pastors will be approached about moving and serving another congregation. In this particular Episcopal District there will be a number of new faces in new places. Has the retirement law affected your district in any way? I noticed that Pastor Cecil "Chip" Murray is retiring as pastor of FAME.

Parson Allen - I'm a young buck so the retirement law has no impact on me nor my pastor :-) Isn't Bishop Hildebrand pastoring a small church in nearby Jacksonville? QED

The retirement law and its enforcement is the best thing that has happened in the past 100 years. This will make room for new and younger persons to become leaders in the church. A young minister can see that there will be a place for him/her after they spend time and money to get the appropriate credentials. Praise the Lord
