Is there a fix for the 5000 rpm engine vibvration?

Yo! Good answer, I have one myself. Try replacing your engine oil & your gasoline. Sometimes this two causes vibration on the motor. Otherwise, I agree with the guy. Don;t ride at 5000 rpm.

My old 2000 MV did vibrate badly at 5,000 but my current '02 does not vibrate at all. A couple of things you could try is:

1) Have the dealer make sure your CO2 mixture is correct; 2) Change the grips to one with more padding; 3) Add some heavier weight bar ends; or 4) All of the above.

Most of this vibration is due to the mapping for the emission laws in the states. The fuel is set differently in this area to make it run cleaner at the testing range. The only real solution is to buy a chip and have a custom map done by someone that really knows what he is doing.

Kane makes a good point. I think some owners have been happy with the Power Commander because it also lessens the "on/off" power response.

Most bikes are running a bit strange at 5K to sidestep noise, rather than emision laws. Manufacturers don't worry about this as there realy shouldn't be any regular use in this part of the rev range. Too low out of town and too high in heavy traffic. Can I suggest you just change gear.
