What kind of reporting service will be covering the General Conference so the rest of us who aren't in attendance can follow the proceedings? I mentioned cybercoverage to my pastor's wife and she said she'd rather not have the business sessions televised because of the contentiousness that often takes place.

The reluctance of having the General Conference business sessions covered by webcast only confirms that many of us are Christian in name only. We are instructed in the Bible and the AME Discipline to be exemplary in our deportment. Such exhortations for civil behavior are routinely rejected because many allow anger, pride and hate to infiltrate our Quadrennials. The absence and/or lack of civility and theological maturity weakens our collective witness, serves as a poor role model for youth and provides ammunition for the Adversary. We don't mind the camera and lights when we are piously pontificating about the alleged social injustice we encounter in society yet when the topic turns to deliberating about the future and fate of our Zion we rapidly seek cover because in essence we have not grown to a point where we can disagree without being disagreeable. Yet, we lament why our children are so mixed up. Let's look in the mirror for the answer. QED
