Should the Long (Belly) Putter be banned?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

Ernie Els, a South African living in America, says that the Long Putter favored by some Senior Tour players and a few PGA Tour players shoulde be banned. How do you stand on this. Since Brother Els is an African living in America, would he be considered African-America if he accepted US Citizenship?

Another Issue: Mrs. Kerry is a native of South African and has became an US Citizen. If, God forbid, Senator Kerry is elected president, Mrs. Kerry would become the first acknowledged African-American First Lady. (Smile) I will also post this on another question.

Dear Pastor Answering the golf question first I believe the club should stay. I recall the discussion on changing from wooden to titanium drivers. If some wish to use them let it be.

I am going to smile on point two as I am sure Mrs. Kerry does not enjoy the same complexion as most African Americans. God Bless You

But the fact is that she is African-American in the true sense of the term. I read recently of a white American traveling in Britian rushing up to a black man and gusing how happy he was to see that African-Americans lived in Britian. Needless to say the black man was highly offended and let the man know in a precise British accent, his native tongue. Afain, God forbid, if the Senator is elected, she has the title; First African-American First Lady, U.S. Perhaps we will have to put an asterik* by her name indsicating that she is white also.

I am shocked to say the least that all the black folk have not jumped at the chance to outlaw the long (belly) putter that is being used in a attempt dislodge Tiger Woods as the Number 1 ranked golfer in the world, Mr. ViJay Singh uses the putter. Can't we help Tiger?

I believe Tiger will be just fine. God Bless You

Yes, Tiger will be ok. Interestingly enough, there was an article on the Golf Channel naming the 10 best ways to improve the game of golf. One of the ways, and it might have been the number one way, was to ban the long putters. Purists argue that putting "yipes" are part of the game and the long putter minimizes these "yipes". I have no comment on the African-American issue other than the quip that was around in the 60's, just because you are Black doesn't mean you are "Black" and just because you are an African american does not mean you are an "African-American". :-) God Bless Bro Bob McCain
