I just received a request in the mail from Morris Brown. Apparently, there is a campaign to get 100,000 people to donate $100.00 to this institution. I encourage all who know the value of education to send a donation to Morris Brown College.

I sent my second donation to this college because I don't want to stand by and watch it cease to exist. There are 127 African-American colleges and universities in this nation and this country has benefited from their existence.

There was a less than complimentary story about Morris Brown College on the Jim Lehrer Newshour last week which I found most annoying. Nevertheless, we must step up to the plate and write that check in faith and God will reward our faith. As I understand it, this college was founded in the basement of an AME church. Let us all step forward and not embarass the proud legacy of our ancestors.

Brother I agree and support your position. We cannot afford to loose that which our forefathers worked so hard to build. We have been given a legacy. Let us be the master builders for the next generation to build upon.
