Not to shure of the year but I do know of a young girl that died in the Richmond district while trying to relight the fire in the fire place in the morning with a can of lighter fluid and her night clothes cought fire. As I under stand it, Dan

Thank you both for your response. For the first one, I no longer live in California. I live in Michigan. It is really important for me to see this article. I would think it would have been in the San Francisco Newspaper, But I have searched for all Calif newspapers but they do not go that far.

I do believe the girl’s family took my family to court, but could not sue, so there must be court papers. But again, I have looked in tons of court papers (online that is).

I also remember me and this girl were playing in my back yard, so the article should mention that. We were 4, 5, and she may have been a little older, but not too much. I am almost positive I was 5. It could have even been in 1962. This was a very traumatic event for me so the details are few. I also remember that lived close to Candlestick Park.

For the second response, my heart fell as I was reading yours, it started out sounding like the event, but we were out side playing with matches, and while sitting and throwing matches against the house she (the girl that died) dropped a match on her dress and within seconds she was in flames, I couldn't see her face anymore. I did try to help (even at that young of an age) by grabbing a blanket which I was going to wrap her in it, but I could not catch her. When my father ran out he grabbed her and put her on the ground and I was in shock, she just didn't look good with no clothes, hair, or real form to her little body. I must have blocked her name from my mind because I can not remember it. My name is Lorraine Damron, which might help in the search.

I guess to let this event go, I need to know the details first. This is why I need to find anything regarding this event. Hopefully someone can help me find this. It would have to be written somewhere, wouldn't you think.

Go to your local library. Request an interlibrary loan of the microfilm for the San Francisco Chronicle for the dates in question. It might take a while, but you'll get it. YOu'll have to read it on the machine at the library. Good luck
