This is probably to late, but oh well. Edgar was NOT crazy. He was, however, extremely depressed. He had many tragedies in his life, so he has a really good exuse. Edgar got the reputation for being crazy after a JOURNALIST labled him as such. When in TRUTH, Edgar was just WAY ahead of his time. Look at Stephen King, not too many people call him crazy for writing "far out" stuff. I do admire that you have the decency to ASK whether or not Edgar was crazy, unlike some people who just think they know everything.
