the people that effected poe's life was his mother, step mother, step father, father, brother,wife,anut, and the people that he worked for that turned him down.

I went to the Poe museum in Richmond, VA, where he grew up, and the guide said that his stepfather had a magazine from England with outlandish tales in it that was very popular. That gave him some ideas. I believe the women in his life also had an influence,as he wrote poems to honor some of them.
