Analyzation of 'To Science'greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread |
I was just wondering if anyone knew the analyzation of 'To Science'. I have read it about a hundred times and it's killing me. I just can't figure it out, so if you could help me I would appreciate it. THANKS!

I just read it for the first time, and I am not a Poe scholar, but it seems obvious:Science is the daughter of Old Time, therefore she is of a new generation. She is draging all the old time myths into the clear objective light of science. She is disproving these myths and killing their romantic appeal.
Maybe it just seems obvious to me because I happen to agree with Poe in this lamentation.
