Anyone know when sony is going to drop the ps2's price to 99$. This could just be a rumor, so could someone please let me know.

Its because PS2's just aren't celling as much as they used to. So they are dropping the price to try and cell more.

Yeah I heard that too. I think they're dropping the price because it's getting close to Christmas season and considering that it'll be so cheap than from before, more people will buy them. It's actually really smart marketing...

Heh, if the price really does drop to $99, maybe even I will buy one of those. I always planned to do so somewhere along the line, but the price was too high. Hakato, where did you hear this rumour?

it's $199 : 1 PS2 including some games i believe maybe 2 or 3 games which you can pick. (on advertisement)

I hope it does drop in price because my PS2 just broke. Now I have to trade in a bunch of DVDs and games to get a new one. Did you guys hear about the PSX? It was in the Playstation magazine. It's suppose to be a PS2 with a cd and dvd player, cd and dvd burner, a TiVo and a 160 or 250GB harddrive built in. They said it's suppose to come out at the end of the year in Japan and sometime in 2004 in the USA. Maybe they'll lower the price of PS2 when the PSX comes out.

Sony will probably drop the price after the holiday season because they sell the most units at that time. Its already the top selling system so its not like they have to pretend to be competitive with xbox and gamecube. (i think i read somewhere that the PS2s sold last holiday season outnumbered the total sales of the xbox and the gamecube)
