I did a text search for "the stranger" in the KJV Bible, Old testament. I found 56 instances of "the stranger". Almost all of them were explicit instructions that the stranger who chose to live among God's people, Israel, and embrace the beliefs of Israel were to be treated the same as one "born in Israel". This being the case, race or ethnicity was not or should not have been a major factor as is the case today. This, along with the many wanderings of God's people, suggest that they had to be a highly mixed bunch of folk.

Just look at Rahab, a harlot and stranger, but her and her household (or all who would embrace the beliefs) entered into the Camp. That's a great mixture of folk.

Something has happen on the way to heaven. Somehow the hours between 10:00-1:00 is still the most segregated. Now this is not for argument sake, just observation.
