Hey guys! Well I am doing an English project on Poe and how the women in his life affected what type of peoms he wrote, how he wrote them, and various other things that tie into that. Specific examples would be great! Thanks I appreciate it!

A lot of women dided in his life when he was about 8 his mom had died and then his aunt adopted him, and he took his uncle name (allen). He then married. His wife/cousin then died of the same thing his mom did consumption. So this drove Edgar into drinking. And he became very depressed, and that what brought out all the emotion and feeling in his poems.

Poe's life was filled with depression - his father either died or abandoned him and the family before Poe turned one. The majority of his poems are the darker side of humanity, the perverse thoughts that line human thoughts. I'm not sure how Poe wrote him poems, mostly with rhymes and such.

Many of the women how died in his life (his mother from consumption, his foster mother died of consumption, a childhood friends mother whom he was believed to have had a romantic relationship went mad and died, his wife died from consumption) ended up with poems. "To Helen" is believed to be about his childhood friends mother, "Annabel Lee" is possibly about Virginia, his wife.

As you can in many of his poems, a beautiful woman dies. Maybe it is in direct correlation with the women in his life dying.
