My approx 5 year old YardMachine 4hp lawnmower starts fine but the engine revs up and down. I have cleaned the air filter and replace the gas a few times. Could a spark plug cause this?. Not sure what else to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Rick! Try adjusting the screw on the carb to increase the air intake. Sounds like your carb mite have some dirt in it. old hoot. Matt.24:44
