having some few troubles with mirc. One I alot of time I can't dl off someone cause I'm on the wrong port or something says they are using port 59 and the other is I can't dl bevcaue I don't have a registered nick and I don know how to get one. Thats really it. peace

mIRC comes configured to use TCP port 59 for its DCC Server. You can change this if you need to by going to File/Options/DCC/Server and specify the port number in the "Listen on Port:" text box.

I doubt you really need to do this however; most people don't bother to change it unless they absolutely have to keep that port free for another application. What kind of error are you getting EXACTLY?

Many IRC networks will let you register a nickname with NickServ, provided the nickname you choose is not already registered by someone else. After you connect to a server, type /msg nickserv help in the main window for more information on how to do this.
