Yes, yes, yes...I'm here, Dee :-)!! I check in quite often during the day, but I guess we all don't have much to say. I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to get sh** in order before we leave early...early Sat. morning for N.C. Geesh, between getting the livestock all taken care of, paying govt. stuff by the 15th. and taking care of other monthly bills that I wont be here to pay....I NEVER, EVER want to go away again!!!!! Not to mention laundry, packing and cleaning the house! I do not want to come home to a dirty house (or barn for that matter!). Sure wish I knew how to pack up this webtv and take it with me :-(!!!!

Marcia, how long are you going to be down in NC? Will you have no internet access?Hi Dee!
I have a question for anyone who knows anything about replacing power cords on older frigerators. (jay?) I put a new cord on the thing today cuz it didn't have a grounded plug, and installed it just fine I think, something I've done several times before. But when I plugged the thing in, the coils on the back panel got really hot, making the panel hot too, and it made me uneasy so I unplugged it. Is this normal, or does it sound like there's something wrong?
(EM, who is listening to certain unnamed persons say snarky things about my free frig)

Hi E.M....my mom used to have a computer at her home, but when my stepfather went into the nursing home she gave it away. Just as well...I know NUTHIN'N about using one :-)!! There is a way to bring webtv with you if you travel, but I haven't researched it. All I need to connect it is a TV screen and a phone jack, but I'm not sure what's involved in an ISP, etc. Harry even had to extend his tournament game at "It's Your Turn" to a 14 day game so he wouldn't forfeit it!! We're leaving Sat. the 13th. and "hope" to be back in Maine on Mon. the 22nd. That is if we don't run into a hurricane!!!!BTW...I haven't got a clue as to what's wrong with your fridge (your FREE fridge :-)!!) cord. Don't get yourself electrocuted!!

Yep, I'm still here. Been pretty slow lately . . . my life is just the same old same old stuff - a scratched record album.

I'm having trouble breathing right now. Unloaded a trailer full of hay into my barn. They cannot back the trailer down to the barn so we have to unload onto my old truck, back down, unload, then stack. Goats found that if they stretch far enough, they can help themselves to a snack.Animal control thought he found the dog that attacked my goats. Close but it wasn't the right one. Darn. It hasn't been back but I'm still out $155. The dog was stopped both times. What would happen if he isn't? I'd hate to come home to mass slaughter one day.
I can't believe summer is gone. We closed our pool yesterday. Didn't even feel like we had any time in it at all. I picked up some perennials and have to plant them soon so they don't freeze one night.
Hey, anyone have any idea why the door to my outhouse sticks out on the bottom? I thought it was tight in one side but after plaining it, that wasn't it. My husband made the hinges fit the holes he drilled. Could that be it? We tried to put a cord on but it seemed to make it worse (before the cord stretched out) Maybe has to be the opposite side?
My son is going to be totally surprised with his lizard for his birthday. I had told him that they eat too many crickets that smell. I found out that they can eat other things so I have reconsidered but didn't tell him. I have the supplies coming this week. I don't think hubby realizes what he's getting into. Not an animal person but definitely not a lizard person. (we moved something and I exclaimed because of all the termites under it and he yelled because of the little snake that was under it)
Glad to see everyone

Dee, whenever I hang a door, I like to place a shim at a height I want the door to close to (i.e. already shut against the frame), then inserting a thinner shim at the hinge side to be certain the spacing is consistent.THEN I screw in the door hinges swith the shims in place. That gives me time to make any adjustments before the screws are inserted.
Hasn't let me down yet - sorry to hear about dogs messing with your critters.

I did have shims in there, it just will not close on the bottom. My husband suggested us putting another latch there. Last winter I had a cinderblock resting against it hoping it would settle.
