protection shields against flash welding sparkinggreenspun.com : LUSENET : Resistance Welding : One Thread |
I have a problem with a flash butt application. I want to weld two profils (quite large section). The violent sparks produces when flash butt welding causes me great problems in other machinery and operators around the flash welder. I pretend to install some type of protection shields or pannels around the flash welder to protect the rest of the installation.I have thought in two different materials for that pannels: 1-. Stainless stell with a fine water film 2-. Refractory material similar to the used in liquid steel transporting "spoons".
I would really thank any comments about these two possibilities as well as other posible solutions.
Thanks for everything,
