I was wondering if anyone has heard of the anime 'Lain'? Is it good?

If you like one of those animes where you got put a lot of thought into it then it will be good... however i didn't really get it - it was too confusing in my opinion

Hey Sashira, the simple answer is this: If you like it then its good. Anime is a matter of personal taste, don't be afraid to like something even if no one else likes it.

Lain is classified as one of the few 'thinking' animes out there along with gits and evangelion.

I enjoyed it a lot- even if I didn't understand it fully. There are things in Serial Experiments Lain that you would understand only if you were Japanese (or spoke the lang fluently and knew their history and customs like your own), but it loses a lot in translation (regardless if it's subbed or dubbed). Then again, I'm slightly biased since I like things that make me think. I've not had a chance, yet, to see GITS or Evangelion. They are both now on the top of my list! :o)

The laughing man incident to me is a parody of the initiation of counter-culture in the U.S. that advocates sex, getting high, and disobeying traditional values. The series overall questions whether having cybernetic implants is a step toward evolution or a step backward.

That's the only way I can view that series as, if I wanted action anime I would go for something more flashy like naruto.
