I'mmm baacckk. It was absolutely wonderful. The best part was sitting on the beach, reading my book and not feeling guilty because I'm not doing stuff around the farm. We brought our bicycles and rode every morning. The weather was hot and the water warm. My husband and son were having a seaweed fight because there was alot in the ocean. (Better then jellyfish like last time.) No cooking, no cleaning, no animals...it was great!

Unfortunately, the dog came back while I was away. The same goat was again attacked and died the next day. I felt bad for my sitter because she hates for any animal to get hurt. Anyway, she locked them in with a temporary gate so they got enough air. The animals control officer set a trap but dogs usually don't go in them. I'm gonna move it to the woods tomorrow and bury the goat (I had her put it in the old chicken coop so she didn't have to dig a hole which is really hard to do here because of rocks)

Tomorrow I am going to go door to door and look for this dog. My husband has his 22 out and ready but I want these people to pay for this goat (and feel really, really bad too) It isn't the dog's fault. I really think that the dog doesn't get loose often and was only playing with the goats but, it has to stop. So far, the people I did ask to see their dogs were nice about it. They would even suggest a dog now and then. Hope all are so nice. We will see.

Husbands birthday is tomorrow. We are usually down the shore during his birthday so this is nice. I got him one of those one piece winter outfits for the snow. Well, it will be a surprise.

Dee...sad about the goat. It's tough when there's dogs running around out there. Enough to have to worry about coyotes, bobcats, cougars and the like without having to worry about someone's "free range" dog, too. I hope you can find the culprit and get some satisfaction (money and/or otherwise). Sheesh.
