What is the origin of the Affirmation of Faith?

Answers

We use what is known as the "Apostles Creed" which was developed (Council of Nicene), I believe as a concise statement of our Christian faith. I may be wrong about when and where. There are simaliar creeds also, that attempt to do the same thing. One thing that causes some problems is the reference to the "holy catholic church". Some, think this refers to the Roman Catholic Church. However it refers to the church universal including all Chriatian denominations.
