This is a BIG Anime TV QUESTION SOMEON JUST HAST TO ANSWER IT....greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread |
Okay. Take cartoonetwork for instance. Who decides what anime they are going to show? Also why does it take so long to get approval to show them. Also why dont they show some of the most popular anime most of them have allready been finished. Also why do they sometimes edit opening and ending themes? Ive been wondering about those questions forever does anybody know?

why they always edit the opening and ending themes is because the company wants to have american version of opening and ending themes and that why the music sometimes always suck.

The Marketing guys decide what anime they are going to show by probably doing a survey or something of that sort. It takes a while to get approval because of international copy right issues and thats why most of the anime here are already over or been over for the last 5 years (DBZ), You wont see popular anime unless its got a high rating from people watching that channel. they also edit the themes for time, in asia shows can start at 45 past or 15 past or even 20 past the hour, and then in asia there are channels that don't show any commercials and if you have a tv you pay a tax for that channel...(gov owned) so the reasoning behind it is that not enough of the people here or the advertisers watch enough anime for us to have a good anime channel that shows current episodes with subbs or dubs.. the dubs take extra long over the Copyrights and finding the parts for each character...

I'm not really sure, at times I wish they would leave the themes in japenese, or translate the lyrics into english -_- oh well... lol @ RC-7 "sometimes always suck" that sure is right :P

cartoon network is about to lose a lot of veiwers. when i saw that they were taking kenshin off, i almosted cried. if any one still watches for the other anime then you should stop cause when it gets to the good part, they go back to reruns. and the reason why they don't like to show beginning themes to much is because they are to selfish and don't want us to enjoy the full anime. if anyone feels that there should be a network for anime only, email you thoughts to me at kenshinjunkie03@yahoo.

kenshinjunkie03@yahoo - not a valid email address. >:PSides... you wanna start your own tv station showing anime only? I got one myself... and more or less I'm the only one watching :( Do you have any idea how much would that cost and how many viewers you need to justify it?
