Need info on John Anderson--Noe Valley architect/carpenter

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

I would like some current information on John Anderson, the turn of the century architect/carpenter in the Noe Valley. He was my great grandfather and, according to our family history, moved to LA because he couldn't support his family building in SF.

Now his houses are selling for a million dollars and more and I notice that he is described as a "prominent" architect. I would love information on how his reputation developed and why he is so highly thought of now.

Thanks, Kathye

Kathye- I read an article yesterday in the Chronicle's pullout magazine about a young realtor named Jesse Fowler (works for BJ Droubi in SF) who wants to own a John Anderson-designed home in Noe Valley. He may be able to steer you in the right direction. Also, a realtor named David Parry has an interest in SF architects around the turn of the century. I hope they can help you. Dan
