what is kikaider?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread |
i look at the TV listings for adult swim and at 12:00 midnight, i find lupin the 3rd replaced by kikaider. what the heck is this show? from what i've seen by looking it up, it looks like some power rangers type show. i know it's not anime. looks kinda like ultraman tiga to me.
-- Anonymous, June 09, 2003
I'm not exactually sure what it is but it does look and sound really gay, how in the world could they replace Lupin with that.
-- Anonymous, June 09, 2003
Do you think you just mabey saw htat on Sunday, because Lupin the 3rd only comes on Mon.-Thurs.
-- Anonymous, June 09, 2003
hey i noticed that too! i hope its at least halfway decent. sounds pretty gay though. oh well the shows after are really good at least. i didnt like lupin the 3rd that much ne ways.
-- Anonymous, June 09, 2003
yeah i saw that they were replacing lupin with this kikaider thing to and soon they're taking off trigun and cowboy bebop for some other shows god someone shoot me now! its bad enuff they did this earlier this year taking off inuyasha for stupid ass reign but now this??? cartoon network really pisses me off
-- Anonymous, June 09, 2003
kakaider is an anime I don't know much about it but it's about this boy who is an adroid. Anywayz he was built incomplete or something along those lines and he is able to cry and stuff. Sorry hope that helps.
-- Anonymous, June 09, 2003
The best way to find out would be to watch it. Its a cartoon based on a sentai, like Ultraman, made earlier.
-- Anonymous, June 11, 2003
Kikaider is about this boy whos an android. He was built with some kind of gemini which is kind of like a heart is incomplete (all it needs is some kind of blueprint). Which means the evil guy can control it with a whistle.
-- Anonymous, June 11, 2003
He is half human and half robot mostly, they talk about him expressing feelings, the evil man who created him sends his brothers after him, i don't really think it is gay, it may just be sensitively done, you have to see most episodes of anime to get it
-- Anonymous, June 12, 2003
It's basically an anime about an android that has a robot and a human form and that isn't fully complete yet. His gemini, which is like his conscience that tells him what right from wrong is, is incomplete and he needs some kind of blueprints to complete it. So, as long as it is incomplete some weird looking evil guy, that looks like someone from Tekkan, can control him by using his staff as a flute, or something like that. So far that's what I've seen. Oh ya, and his maker's daughter and son and some detective guy and his assistant are looking for him. And that evil dude keeps sending other androids at him, but of course he destroys them. So, ya, that's what I know so far.
-- Anonymous, June 13, 2003
The show is an anime based on a classic tokusatsu show (though I've heard they did a manga for it too, but...) You should check out Roger's Kikaider page at http://kikaider.almostblue.net/kikaider.htm if you want an excellent overview and an indepth look at the show. The anime is certainly re-imagined, but the storyline and characters are the same.
-- Anonymous, June 13, 2003
From what I've seen of the show its pretty good. And from what I looked up its from a 70's show in Japan called Kikaider and yes it is kind of like power rangers. But I wouldn't put the show down until you've watched and yes I was VERY ANGRY
-- Anonymous, June 13, 2003

-- Anonymous, June 13, 2003
i dont like the show that much. the mood is believable, but i like the ending song. i stay up just to listen to it. but i cant find a site that had the mp3 of it... -_-; grrr
-- Anonymous, June 14, 2003
From the few episodes shown so far on "Adult Swim", Kikaider is a robot with a conscience (reminds me of The Zeta Project). The problem is an evil scientist wants to destroy Kikaider because he's not willing to kill like the other robots under his control, but when the scientist plays this flute, it has a slight influence over him. Kikaider must fend off these evil robots while dealing with an identity crisis, because no matter how much he wants to live like a human, most of the people he encounters would only see him as some kind of monster. Such a sad story, but it's worth watching.
-- Anonymous, June 15, 2003
Kikaider is a robot that has a conscience and his heart is called the gemini system. When Dr. Komyoji built Jiro(also know as Kikaider) his lab was attacked or somthing and blew up before he could fix Jiro's gemini system. Dr. Komyoji's daughter, Mitsuko, found an envelope behind on of their pictures that had a microchip or somthing in it that showed Jiro's blueprints and mentioned that if the gemini system wasn't repaired Jiro would have to be destroyed. Dr. Gill, the evil guy, keeps sending other robots to destroy Jiro, but Mitsuko told him about the switches on his shoulders so he could change into Kikaider and fight them. Jiro isn't to bad at playing the guitar either, but everyone runs away from him because of the way he looks. He just wants to be human like everyone else, it's perfectly understandable. I mean, would you want your friends to be afraid and run away from you?
-- Anonymous, June 15, 2003
At first it may look stupid but it is actually a really good show. Its about a lost android who thinks he is human named Jiro but later on when he turns into Kikadier he finally relises that he is just a MAD MACHINE. Tis story really touches the heart. Because Jiro is confused and is trying to find himself and a home he is embaressed to be seen looking like a android. For those who haven't seen it should I thought it would be another lame ass sho like REGION or LUPIN THE THIRD. But it isn't but I am still mad that they took TRIGUN and COWBOY BEBOP now what am I to watch at 1:00 in the mornning. Well that sucks now doesn't it!!
-- Anonymous, June 16, 2003
I can't believe they are taking Trigun and Cowboy Bebop off! Those shows are the only reason I watch adult swim! Well, I also liked home movies, but they only play that once a week now. What's wrong with those crackheads at CN head quarters? I guess it really doesn't matter though. I have the entire season of Cowboy Bebop uncut and subtitled, but I've yet to come across some susbtitled Trigun. If anyone knows where I could get some that would be great.
-- Anonymous, June 16, 2003
I saw the page by roger and laughed. It does look like a power rangers thing. Geez, im glad the anime is pretty good thoough. BUT IM AM SO MAd they took off trigun and bebop! NOT MY VASH! waa! They could hav e at least finished the series. And another thing, why wont cartoon network play the original endings? the last ending of trigun was essential to the show! You get to see vash returning to the town with knives on his back. At first when i saw it, i didnt know what the heck was going on. o well, i completly went off topic.
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
yes we are all upset that they took away Trigun and Bebop, but hopefully they will be back soon, anyway about Kikaider I don't think it is too bad, and if any one has that guitar lickl that Jiro does often I would appreciate very much
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
i'm also looking for the introduction music that they play at the ending as well. if anybody can help me find that and that solo jiro plays on his guitar, that would be great. also, i did find the opening and ending movies for Kikaider here:http://www.anzwers.org/free/animeintro/kikaider.html
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
Well I have the ending song and I can give it to anyone who want it, so just e-mail me
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
amuro u probably already know what kikaider is about but after semi- watching it last night i have one response to ur "what is kikaider" question....its a piece of crap! no questions asked, crap crap crap!!!!!!!!
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
O.k people get a grip! it's not that bad of a show. sure it looks kinda gay and the drawing is like an old anime from the 80's but the animation is pretty good and the action isn't all that bad. Doesn't anyone look at that stuff anymore. - - -
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
omg i am obsessed with it!! its really good!!! but it seems like its too short, it feels like 15 mins long lol
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
I've seen a few shows of kikaider and yes it seems like its only 15 minutes long. But its really interesting, to me anyway. i also think reign the conquerer sux! I can't believe they tried to replace inuyasha with that crap. And why would they even consider taking off Trigun?
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2003
Kikader is off the hook. Jiro is a cool guy that I can relate to. Plus, I like the old-school animation and the theme song. Also, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who thought that Reign sucked. It has to be the worst show on CN. It's like: "Look at me. I'm Alexander the Great, and I can ride a horse and wear a thong at the same time."lol
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
I am a fan of alexander the great but this cartoon makes him look gay. in real life he was blond not brunet.
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
Well i think kikaider is like an adictive show like luppin the 111, inuyasha, trigun, cowboy bebop. Anyways i saw the original kikaider in a japanese show (only aired in Hawaii) (which i live) so i know whats going to happen. But i think that the anime version of it looks more better than the original one. Well in my point of veiw i think someone who neva saw it should at least watch the first episode of it.
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
They moved Lupin the 3rd to 1:30 am. Kikaider is about a robot with a Gemini switch that acts as a conscience.
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
I have been watching Kikaider since it began on cartoon network and at first I didn't care for it but now I'm strangely attracted to it...it think it's the ending song "Destiny"...it has to be but I want to know if CN is going to show new Inuyasha. I'm in Japan right now and I'm on episode 113 since it's still running here but CN left off at episode 36 or something like that. I think CN get's us addicted to these animes and then pulls the plug...maybe they have some crack dealers in programming...lol.
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
Kikaider seems like a pretty good show. but after all the changes on adult swim i think they should extend the time then everyone would be happy! yay! maybe the only reason i like kikaider is because he's an android. the anime was based on the 1970's version and yes it did look like power rangers but you gotta admit the anime is a big improvement! if anyone has the music that jiro plays pleaze send it! the ending song wouldn't be bad too!
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
Actually, the music that they played at the ending of Kikaider on CN is actually the opening music. Both the Japanese opening and ending can be found herehttp://www.anzwers.org/free/animeintro/kikaider.html
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
ok well I found a web site that has the track listings for the animation soundtrack, but you can't download them from there. Here is the web stie for any one who is interested, and if you find Jiro's Guitar (any part) please send it to me.http://incolor.inebraska.com/stuart/collect/acd.htm
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
Watch the freaking show the art work looks like it's from the same creator of Metropolis, Astro boy, and so on. The way it looks when he's been transformed may have a similarity to power rangers and the latest/ruined ultra man. But that is it none of the power rangers were cyborgs and the old Kikaider was made for kids this one probably made for that same reason but turned animated.
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
At Roger's Kikaider page Jiro's guitar intro can be downloaded, but it's not the same as the one on the anime. I think this is Jiro's solo on the live action version of Kikaider. If Cartoon Network takes Reign off they could put Trigun back.(From what I've read, nobody really likes Reign.) Cartoon Network should take off those 2 comedy shows(the ones that show before the animes) to make room for CowboyBebop and a new anime can be added to the schedule.
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
I'll admit, I didn't like the idea of Kikaider, but now I'm hooked on it, I wait as patiently as I can every day for it to come on and watch. The end theme that so many of you liek so much is called "Theme of Gemini" and it's available on Kazaa, just type up Android Kikaider
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
Trust me it's speed racer cheap, Story's ok though it's just like they only spent 10 dollers on is what pisses me off later!
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
does anybody ever watch reign or lupin? i mean why the hell did they take trigun and cowboy bebop off just because of those 2 animes! as u can see i dont like reign or lupin much. oh yeah kikaider is alright. well i think it is
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2003
The reason Kikaider has such an old-school look to it is because the manga was originally created in the 60's, so the story may be a bit before Speed Racer's time. And you know Anime likes to keep in accordance to manga as far as art format goes. I think it looks pretty good, I mean, at least no one is bow-legged like Lupin (I got nothing against Lupin, he just looks bow-legged at times. ^^; ). The live-action version ran during the early 70's and then it was sorta forgotten for a while. Then the anime version was made in 2000 and it just made its way over here. Since it sorta showed up nowhere outta the blue in 2000 and just got over here, it explains why I haven't been able to find out much more on the anime for Kikaider, but it is a really intriguing story. The opening theme is bewitching...I got it off of kazaa lite and it's supposedly titled Theme of Gemini. The only other Kikaider song I was able to get is Yui Horie's (Mitsuko's seiyuu) "Destiny". It's not too bad either. You should really give this show a chance, the plot is much deeper than any of that power rangers crap. ;D Please feel free to email me about any new Kikaider information or if you would like to request one of the songs from my folder. I'll be happy to share with anyone.

Compared to Lupin the 3rd, Kikaider rocks. In my mind at least, its a pretty tough race between Lupin and Reign: The Conqueror for the worst anime ever shown on Adult Swim. What pisses me off is that they left Reign in the time slot and removed Cowboy Bebop! I know they'd played through that series....god...I lost count how many times they'd played it over...but in any case, it was still fun to watch now and again. I really wish Cartoon Network would remove Reign and play something of merit, perhaps something to the effect of DNAngel or Gundam wing.BTW, I checked the listings for adult swim, and despite what Amuro Ray would like us to believe, Lupin the 3rd is STILL on Adult Swim. Unfortunatly.
-- Anonymous, June 19, 2003
kikaider rocks and they still show lupin at 1:30 rigen SUCKS ASS inyashia will be new soon trust me and guess WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO PUT EVANGELION ON SOON YAY
-- Anonymous, June 19, 2003
kikaider is a humaniod that has feelings. he instantly falls in love with his creator's daughter, misko and other robots created by professor gill. watch it, watch it!!!!!!
-- Anonymous, June 19, 2003
I'm pleased to see the growing support for Kikaider the animation. However, I think the most disappointing thing about Kikaider is that it's so short. I hear its only 13 episodes long. ;_; We can hope for a continuation, but ...eh...Either way, for such a short animation, the story line seems excellent and the dub voices aren't horrid either. I suppose this goes to show that you cannot judge an anime simply by how it looks. For example, Lupin the III. Personally, not the best animation ever that I've seen, but the script is pretty funny and the gags are amusing enough. I believe the people who worked on Lupin dubbed Kikaider as well, as I am sure I have seen Lia Sargent's name in the Lupin credits as well as Kikaider's (She's Mitsuko's VA). I really hope to see some nice fansites up for Kikaider soon, but even more so, I hope to be able to download the Kikaider episodes soon.
-- Anonymous, June 20, 2003
lia sargent also did the voice for millie in trigun right? i mean, that girl from kikaider (forgot her name) and millie sound almost the same to me
-- Anonymous, June 20, 2003
Kikaider, this show isnt a favorite, i dont realy understand the thing. It reminds me of a samari jack mixed with the power rangers. basicly every show is the same, he fights a bug, he chokes the girl. The best thing about the show is the music, when he plays his guitar.
-- Anonymous, June 20, 2003
It is an anime, just a really old one. It is even older than Lupin III. However, though it may not be the greatest anime ever take care in this: Lupin is on at 1:30 wekkday nights.
-- Anonymous, June 20, 2003
kikaider is a very very very very very very old anime.... y air it now???
-- Anonymous, June 21, 2003
Well, I don't think Kikaider is to bad at all. It sure beats the hell outta Reign!!x( And although what I've seen of the story line is kinda depressing, it is pretty interesting. I think you should watch it b4 making any accusations. And how about its time for CN to put some new Inuyasha on! And they need to get w/ the program and kick Reign off and put Gundam Wing up there...Lordy...Television networks these days...-_-;
-- Anonymous, June 21, 2003
Kikaider is actually a good show. Lupin the Third is cool too but I always seem to miss it. Kikaider is sometimes gay on what they said but it's good once you keep listenin to the whole story behind it all. When I first saw it, I was like, "Damn! Another show messed up cause of this gay one." But when I watched it, I guess it was prety cool. Now UltraMan Tiga sucks ass! I mean, what kind of show is that, I don't watch this show but that new Power Rangers show, the one where they're all ninjas looks better than UltraMan Tiga!
-- Anonymous, June 21, 2003
I am not sure if you have misunderstood or not, but in any case, Kikaider the animated version itself is not old, it was made in 2000...that's not that old, is it? o.O; However, the story did originate in the 60's, and back then, it was probably very creative and even today, it has some appealing intrigue to it. Just sorta think of it as Japan's version of our 1960's 'Batman' (I enjoy that too, it's hilarious~! XD), but with a serious plot. ^^; Does that make sense...to anyone? Anyone at all...?
-- Anonymous, June 21, 2003
yes it makes sense
-- Anonymous, June 22, 2003
Kikaider is a new anime based on a live TV show from the 70's. Even though at first it seems terrible, keep watching! I used to watch Adult Swim soley for Inu, but Kikaider's got me hooked. And even though it's only 12 episodes long, there is a four episode OAV that cartoon network is airing after it.
-- Anonymous, June 22, 2003
It keeps getting disputed as to how many episodes there are. The line up says there is 14, someone else said 13, now you say 12. I'll say there is 14 just outta sheer hope. ^^ That and I saw the title for the 14th episode. We can hope, but either way, it seems Kikaider ends this Thursday. ;____;
-- Anonymous, June 22, 2003
Anyone know some cool anime songs like Gemini for this? Thanks.
-- Anonymous, June 22, 2003
I don't know how to answer that question. But for anyone else reading, I better see some nice Kikaider fansites soon! >:D
Plz? Plz? With a Jiro on top?
-- Anonymous, June 23, 2003
ok I was watching Kikaider tonight and the stupid phone rang, and I missed what Saburo said, i heard bits and pieces liek brotehr but if anyone could sum up what he said I would be very grateful
-- Anonymous, June 23, 2003
I can top that, I missed tonight's episode because my stupid clock froze and it was an hour behind~! ;___;On the plus side, it appears that there are more episodes of kikaider, so now I am really confused as to just how many there are. It appears the count right now has risen to 16. o.O;;
-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003
I think kikaider is one of the best shows on A.S. i have to say the animation is pritty bad but the story line i love and i think that there are 36 episodes.
-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003
Well, yes, it is about Kikaider(Jiro), a robot built with an experimental concience circut called Gemini. It was built to hinder the destructiveness of robots. Hakaider was built to destroy Kikaider and can screw up Kikaiders concience circut by whistling. The cool thing is that the voice of Hakaider is Spike's from Cowboy Bebop!
-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003
Err...it's not Spike. David Lucas does Spike, last I checked. I'll check again to be sure. But it does sound like him.
-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003
Ok, for anyone who saw tonight's episode "The Machine that Dreams" - 11...Come on, give it up, *THAT* was some clever camera angles. That whole scene where she's repairing his arm so did *NOT* look like what it really was. Tell me now, honestly, if you can't agree with how the characters looked, tell me the animator's weren't clever with that whole scene. It was like they sneaked in a softcore hentai right underneath the censors' noses! I'm surprised they let that run on Adult Swim at all. Come now, you know you are in awe.
xD
-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003
It sounds to me like Reign needs to go. I can't stand it. Aeon Flux wasn't too bad (I can still barely remember that show), but Reign... gag. Plot's almost impossible to follow, and the jagged artwork makes me anxious. For those of us who have taken an anime class (3 hours of college credit baby!!!), Kikaider is rich in semester paper topics. I'm not even going to start analyzing it though. And before you start moaning about the "old" style of the characters, and the "Power Rangers"-esque fight scenes (in the first few episodes and that's ALL, you impatient grubs), give the series a CHANCE for the love of god. Try to think about why the characters are drawn in an "older" style. Think about the meaning underlying those silly fight scenes.
Ooh, anyway, enough about that. Let's all send CN some feedback. I've already done so about a month ago and I'm going to do it again now that things have changed. Who do they think they are, dropping Trigun after barely one and a half revolutions, and replacing it with worn-out old Reign?? Ditch Lupin already (I liked it at first but it's about as old as Scooby Doo now)!! Cowboy Bebop would be better than either of those two shows. Nuff said.
-- Anonymous, June 26, 2003
THANK YOU! Geez, I kept thinking I was alone on this one. GET PAST THE 'EW, IT LOOKS OLD!' and give the story a chance, it really is much better than you think it looks! At least it doesn't look like Reign.
-- Anonymous, June 26, 2003
Who here wants to see Bebop? I do. I can't belive they replaced Bebop with Lupin the 3rd. I like Lupin the 3rd, but couldn't they kept Bebop and replaced Lupin with Kikaider? Now I won't get to see my favorite Bebop character Edward. =( But why am i complaining they haven't taken Inuyasha away, except for that one time, but they put it back. I was greatful they put it back where it belongs. I want Bebop back in the line up! Who here agrees with me? E-mail me if you do.
-- Anonymous, June 29, 2003
when i saw 11 it was like ......wow! Thats all i can say. I mean.*blushs* The art sytle..and the emotions you saw on the characters were great!
-- Anonymous, July 02, 2003
I know, nothing actually happened, but the way it looked....hahahahah~! Like I said...genius~!Glad someone else picked up on it. ^^V
-- Anonymous, July 03, 2003
I think it's kinda gay (for my opinion) so im not dissin you guys who like to watch it. But if you want to watch it once you can watch it on tv or get it on bittorrent. On tv go to channel 46 at 12:00am. Yah a little late... but if you want to watch it... well i think i got the right channel and time... my imature little brother watches it (Kyouske Sazuki) he watches it all the time... It was kinda sad, but it was more disturbing than anything... feh... I might be wrong though.... eh, off I go to play Legend of Dragoon and watch Inuyasha... no more episodes until.... *sniffle* August....
*sob*
-- Anonymous, July 03, 2003
Lupin 111 comes on at 1:30 and Kikaider is preety cool it is not like power rangers.
-- Anonymous, July 24, 2003
I saw episode 11, and my dad walked in to watch just as Mitsuko was repairing Jiro's arm. And believe me, it was tough to convince him what we were watching wasn't hentai. Very, very tough. But the artwork there was amazingly clever. I even thought for a second that she was...uhh, never mind.
-- Anonymous, July 24, 2003
Ok ppl does anyone here give kikaider a chance??? Well personaly I love it!!! I mean at frist I just watched it to wait for Inu Yasha but they tooked that off. So I watch kikaider and for ppl who don't know how many episodes there are there are 12 ya hear 12! I saw all the episodes they are all good but the last episode at the end stinks! I mean Jiro just walks off into the woods not even saying good bye to mitsuko and misuto. But my rating is a 9 out of 10. If someone wants more info on it just email me!
-- Anonymous, July 25, 2003
Uh, hi. I know you've already got a bunch of answers. I was actually wondering what the site address was to Kazaa. I'm sorta new at this anime thing online. Also, I need to find the theme of Gemini that CN plays. And as of yet does anyone know where to find the music Jiro played to the cat? Thanks.
-- Anonymous, July 25, 2003
for those of you who think trigun and lupin the 3rd got taken off the air, YOU ARE STUPID!they are still on adult swim.they are on sunday too.and fyi, kikaider is a very good, voilent, love story. It is very romantic and cute.so, for those of you who think it's some power ranger type show, then you aperently have never even seen one episode of it.
-- Anonymous, July 25, 2003
Kikaider is fucking awesome! Lupin, I believe, is a complete piece of shit! But who cares right?
-- Anonymous, July 25, 2003
KIkaider is an awsome show! I like Trigun better but Kikaider is still kewl. If they take Trigun off adult swim some ones going to have their neck broken.....
-- Anonymous, July 25, 2003
Kikaider is awesome!!! My sister & i just saw ep. 11 yesterday and...yeah...anyway...there are 12 episodes in the actual tv show itself...the episodes after "the end of the dream" are part of the ova
give kikaider a chance-i don't mind the animation...and its *way* better than reign in any case
-- Anonymous, July 27, 2003
HAHAHAHAH!!! Ahhh yes....episode 11: The Machine that Dreams...best episode of the first season in my opinion. ;D Absolutely hilarious!Well, if any of you have seen my name around here before, you can probably tell that I'm a fan of Kikaider. I didn't agree with the OVA ending, but I can work with it...in my own ways...*goes to write fanfiction*
-- Anonymous, July 29, 2003
Kikaider is awsome. I think the Live action version that they show in Hawaii is O.K. Because it does have Ichiro, Jiro, and Saburo/Gill/Hakaider in it. Oh yeah, it also has Rei/Kikaider 00, which is in the OAV. What is the deal with the end of the ending of the oav that says 2001 - 2004. Is Japan going by the Chinese new year? Remember, Trigun and Lupin III are still on, only later (grumble), but if you like Lupin, Go to your local anime dealer and pick up The Castle of Cagliostro starring Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko.

For those of you looking for sites about the animation, the show's actual title is "Kikaider: The Animation" I love the show, though I am a bit saddened by the way it ended. I wish it was much longer. I agree with you all about "Reign" and I'm SO GLAD they ditched it..

I am so glad there is a place like this! ya! Ya, those skinny anorexia sticks needed to go back to the laundry mat where there butts can be used as ironing boards.(refer to my website for dissing http://www.angelfire.com/anime3/weirdwings ) Hey I like Kikiader! Though I do agree that Adult Swim suggest "tougher" anime...like THE LOVEABLE EATABLE HUGGABLE COWBOY BEBOP, TRIGUN, AND INUYASHA-ya! Too bad they only have so many eps. I miss Faye...and vash...LOVELY VASH *.* But seriously I like the time slot..."Dont tell God how big the sotrm is; The the storm how big your God is."

The ending of Kikaider's OVA was extremely weak, Jiro destroys Ichiro and his other brother, I forget who that is ... and splatters Gill's brains all over the place. Whats the deal with that? ... I'd just assume say Jiro's story ended on episode 12 or 11 or whichever was the last episode before the OAV. The OAV ... can just go in the trash for all I care.

You know what... Kikaider was okay. It was really deep and presented a lot of emotion. That's great. What about Inuyasha?! Now that show needs to be reinstated. Yeah.

Those jackasses controlling the Adult Swim line-up have pissed me off on several occasions with it's almost constant (and yet always unfulfilling) line-up changes. Replacing awesome shows like Cowboy Bebop and Inuyasha with utter crap, i.e. reign(do i really even have to mention it's name?).And not to mention how they horribly shafted us with Yuu Yuu Hakusho! Putting it on the Toonami line-up and editing so heavily that it now compares with likes of Dragonball Z. It was a fairly decent show, nothing too great, but it was entertaining and it was much better when it was uncensored. Now that they've censored it, it's a just another one for the execs over at CN to chalk up as another lost ship gone adrift. A terribly repetative storyline and immensly chopped scenes which totally distorts certain fight sequences (much like those in DBZ). I already have a grudge against those bastards for taking Sailor Moon off the air...(i know that others of you may not appreciate SM as much as I do, but for me, it was the first anime i had ever seen. it's what got me hooked on anime. I'm in love with lil ol' meatballhead... and yes, I'm a guy.) Those network execs over at Cartoon Network better smarten up or else I'm just gonna have to march right down there and shine up my size 10 shelltoe and----well...let's just leave it at that... But anyways, I didn't really like Kikaider at first. It was hard to get into. But after awhile, it grew on me, or maybe it was just the music... I really have to get Jiro's Guitar Intro!! I drift off to sleep to Theme of Gemini. That song alone makes me wanna strap a guitar to my back and wander the streets aimlessly like a disheartened hobo in angst.I'm sorely disappointed with the way CN treats good anime and it's faithful viewers. Maybe, in the the future they'll have wisened up and actually to take into consideration what the viewers actually want.
~JFF(Just for fun) My dream Adult Swim line-up: Well, first and foremost, we have to drop Futurama and Family Guy- put those two back on the sunday line-up. Now we have more room for the true shizzle that holds it dizzle for Cartoon Nizzle.
11:00 - Inuyasha 11:30 - Ruroni Kenshin 12:00 - Kikaider 12:30 - Trigun 1:00 - Bebop 1:30 - leave this slot open to experimentation--sort of as a trial period for new shows

I have to agree with "wastedyouth813@hotmail.com". I have a major problem with the way that cartoon network handles it's lineups for both adult swim and toonami. Although most shows on toonami last for a long while, i.e. Dragonball Z. Most of you may be sick of that show by now, but I just love it to death. Like Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z was what got me into watching anime in the first place. If I never spotted the shows on the WB in their way too early time on saturdays those many years ago then i wouldn't have regonize them on toonami when I first got Cartoon Network and probably still wouldn't be looking for any signs of anime today.CN is truly making me upset. Everytime I just get into watching a show, they always replace it with another. Most of the time it's with an incredibly boring show. Tell me this. Why is it that the boring shows last longer than the cool ones? I for one am a fanatic for gundamn, but they don't show them anymore except for G Gundamn. (which I've seen way too many times.) Inuyasha is a great show and I was getting into it when it first aired, until the changed the line up and showed adult swim on weekdays. That may not sound like a problem to you, but I had school and it was hard for me to stay up late because I would drift off to sleep no matter how good the show is. I was finally able to see some of the new episodes they added to Inuyasha, but then they just took it off. That was when Kikaider first aired.
Let me tell you one thing. I was so busy fussing over the lost of Inuyasha that I didn't even give Kikaider a chance at first. I thought of it to be some stupid robot show kind of similar to Cyborg 009. I just started watching the show a couple weeks ago and I love it! I love everything about it except for the way it ended. Jiro is my fav character in the show. I kinda feel sorry for him though. The fact that he's a robot w/ human emotions when he can never be human. Yet CN had to go and piss me off again when they took Kikaider off just when I was starting to get into it. I'm just hoping that they bring it and Inuyasha back sometime soon. They seem to always bring back some shows. DBZ never goes away.
Answer me this. Do you think that CN should take a chance and bring DBZ to adult swim? Just hear me out. Although many people say that it is a kids show, I have to disagree on it. The only reason DBZ appears the way it is, is because CN has edited it heavily. I for one have never seen an unedited episode of DBZ but I do know that it has cursing, a lot of violence including many cut out seens of blood and unappropiate killing seens, and some nudity(nothing serious). Although a friend of my once told me that they found an episode of DBZ online where it was when Goku and Chi Chi were having sex before the time of the Cell Games. If you have an opinion on this or some info about the unedited versions please let me know.
