I've been watching serial experiments Lain. I've seen the first coupl of episodes in english. I don't understand the plot or anything. Can someone explain this to me?

The plot doesn't really start becoming apparent until ep. 8 or 9.

Basically, the first few episodes try to assert the importance of the wired in Lain's world and also to try and show that Lain doesn't openly welcome that ideal (at first). It also tries to hint towards some stuff about Lain's real personality, which is explained in the latter episodes. Try to get the sub if you can...the dub is horrid (it even goes as far as to change the names around...)

A friend completely researched that anime on the web (all fansites trying to explain the series), and told me that there are a lot of play on words and references to things in Japanese that we wouldn't understand due to 1) culture differences and 2) language barriers (I don't speak Japanese, and the subtitles lose a lot in translation). I'm almost positive that he used Google to search it. I'm on ep 9 right now, and I'm rather enjoying it's oddness! Of course... I'm odd... *grins*

I'v olny seen ep 1 & 2. As far as i can tell lain has sum mmmmm...lets say issues. She not in touch wit her family and she has an alter ego the wired virson of herself and mmmmmm.she needs love i guess. I'v red vol.1 oh da manga and its weridness levels are off da chart in that. But i love the anime and the manga weird or not
