Congratulations Sister Denise. You have proven that even in Montana a woman can get the job done. For the past several weeks you have provided the denomination with more information than we gets in months of past due Christian Recorders. To God be the glory for your work! I hope you will run for Editor of the Christian Recorder and bring our newspaper into the 21st Century.

To my dear brother Harold and my son Royd, I am honored and humbled that you would consider me for editor of the Christian Recorder. I am a pastor first and that is my passion and calling. I want to plant churches and preach every Sunday. I feel called to Rural Ministry and I feel called to help Bishop Bryant and Dr. Cee with their vision for the fifth district. Montana is where I want to be, for it is a place that minister's do not think about or want to come and pastor. Yet our denomination has been here since 1860. We have 8 Indian reservations in my state and they are treated worst than black people. Many of the reservations look worst than are worst projects. Alcohlism, diabetes is rampant on the reservation. And many of the Indians were treated badly by the Catholic Church and shipped off to boarding schools in the east and stripped of their native language. I feel the A.M.E. Church can do so much to help. For we have been where they are. We have a second shurch in the works which will be called "Lydia Allen A.M.E. after the woman who planted three A.M.E. churches in the 1860's. And my dream of being a circuit rider is coming true. I am the most blessed pastor because for the first time in my life. I have a Bishop that believes in me and understands my call to serve God. For the first time in all of my years of ministry, I am in a denomination that allows me to use the gifts God gave me to glorify him. I have the greatest Bishop in the world. When I tell him, God wants me in Montana and I ask his advice, he tells me to follow God and sets me free to do ministry. I have always been the "odd one" in the UMC church for I never called to urban ministry. I always felt called to specialized ministry, but no one listened. I am 51 years old and I have waited a long time to do this kind of ministry. I am happy. I do the A.M.E. Herald because God asked me to do this. My daughter and I are a great team. I would like to thank the entire A.M.E. Herald staff for giving so generously of their time and gifts. We are volunteers. We follow the example Rev. Fisher laid out for us, and that is to be a servant of God. One last thing, I do not have a degree in Journalism and I strongly believe that who ever runs for Christian Recorder Editor should have a background in journalism. Thank you for your kind words and I hope everyone will thank the rest of the A.M.E. Staff for they are incredible writers.
