SC Rail Publication

I was given a copy of a SC map showing existing rail lines and new lines for the period 1876-1900. The map came from the book: "The Changing Geographic Pattern of South Carolina Railroad Systems 1860-1902." The author was Ralph Walton Ford. Wondered if any Society member has seen, read or has a copy of this publication ? Many thanks, Bob

Further research on the above subject reveals that this article was submitted by Ralph Watson Ford in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degreee of Master of Arts in the Department of Geography- Univesity of SC-1986. Evidently Mr. Ford was a grad. student at Francis Marion College-Florence, SC (1977) at the time. Any Members have thoughts of where to go from here ? Have a great weekend ! Bob

Not an answer, but a reply to the responses. A copy of this publication resides at the SC State Dept. of History and Archives in Columbia. I will follow up on my next trip to that area and post all info. Thanks, Bob

I will soon be new to the Great State of South Carolina. A book like that would be very helpful. I would be interested in obtaining a copy.

Bob, I have not myself, but it sounds very interesting - what would be involved in getting a copy from you for the ACL & SAL HS archives? Thanks -
