Edgar Allan Poe died in 1849 two years after his wife passed away. He died alone and unhappy.

Justin Davis is soooo stupid!! ;) But at least he's trying to be, but Maria is a different story!!! She has no clue what she's talking about. Edgar Allan Poe died Oct. 7, 1849. The reason was unknown, but we do know that he passed out and died three days later. He died happy and was not alone, although he did loose many members of his family, he was engaged, and in love.

Poe's Follower...first of all, you may be right, but you may be wrong. Don't believe EVERYTHING you read about. Not everyone gives the facts or tells the truth. I never heard about him being engaged or even with anyone after his wife died. But then again, you may be right. But I want to know why he was still drinking if he was so happy and etc.. if that be the case.

well after reading some of the answers on this page non of this people know a think about poe. he was one of the greatest mindes ever he wrote things that people still read today so before you mock him live in the world of pain and suffering for a while and learn how this world sucks. as for if poe died happy or not i think he did. he was so facinated with death itself that it consumed his life. Death can be a gift if you know wear you go. read John 3:16 and learn were i will go.. for death is my life i live for God and am ancious to die.to all the people who are suffering and in pain God will help our souls for he is the almighty on that sent his son to die four you and me. the only thing that has stoped me for Dying is the fact that you might not know that he died for your sins and mine. ther is a holy place that all will go that know the blessed savior. poe died physically on October the 7th but as for his legasy he will live for ever in the storys he has writin.. sorry for the miss spelled words remember in god all things are posible
