koflach viva... enough bootgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Mountaineering : One Thread |
Hello,I'm going to be doing a week of climbing 5000m peaks including one 6000m peak in Bolivia. It sounds like conditions get down to around 0F or so.
I have a pair of Koflach Viva plastic boots that I use with a pair of ski mountaineering liners that have been plenty warm for climbs up Shasta and such.
Will this be enough for the Bolivian climbs? What will I be missing out on by not going with a true plastic 'expedition' boot? Am I crazy?
Thanks,
Jeff

I have climbed with a similar pair of boots over 6000m in Equador, Argentina, and to 22,000 ft on Everest. I have never had any problems although on really cold days my feet have gotten cold, but neve numb. Good luck, Bob
