RAYACgreenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
We have been brainstorming an idea -- Having a Youth/Young adult conclave memorial day weekend 2004 to not only discuss the future of young adult ministries but to present the plan that will be taken to the general conference and to begin the process of uplift young adult minstries. This would be open to all 16 to 39. Also their would be a time to possibly discuss/ask questions to the candidates for the bishopric their plans and objectives in retaining and reclaiming young adults in our Zion. I have considered getting in touch with Morris Brown college in Atlanta to see if that would be a feasible venue -- as a symbol of "The Rebirth." Do you like the plan -- do you have any ideas (of course their would be spiritual worship services, bible studies, skillshops. etc.)

Jerry, Do you or the RAYAC already have a plan? I'm not in your target age group, but it seems that Memorial Day weekend of 2004 may be a bit late to prepare something for consideration at GenCon2004.I don't know the entire process, but there are steps which must be taken in advance of submission of ideas and legislation that is to come before the conference. Much of this is sorted out at the Convos which precede the Conference. You can view the schedule from the main page of ame-today.com. The next one is in Philly on June 29-30.
Perhaps Bro. Bill or others who are much more knowledgeable than I can provide more info on the process or you can email Bishop Anderson.
