Can anyone give me some information or links on the affects of Bob Mansfields recomendation to outsource the majority of non news and current affairs programs? Info like the economic cultural, creative affects on the ABC today.

Answers

Although this recommendation has not been implemented officially, there has been continued pressure on the ABC, in television at least, to be involved in co-productions and other forms of outsourcing. Despite this trend, there is still significant, but I think declining, in house production. The Community and Public Sector Union, which represents a large percentage of ABC staff, may have more information on this. This has never been much of an issue for radio. I don't know how it affects ABC Online.
