What is the purpose of a discussion boardgreenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
Two years ago when I first started posting on this board I was brand new to the AME denomination. God was working on my heart to start an AME church in Montana. I knew very little about the AME church for I had been united methodist most of my life. I found friendship, support, encouragement and courage among the readers that I had never seen in any other denomination. People I did not know wrote me with their faith stories, pastors I had never met told me how to start a church. I will always love Rev. Paris for his support and of me and my church. This board for me was a life line. I am the only black ordained clergy woman in my state. I am the only black clergy person in my town. All of you have helped so much. Barbara Robinson and the Michigan Conference Lay organization bought us brand new hymnals, my Bishop Bishop Bryant the greatest Bishop in the world, brought me into the denomination and has supported our ministry since day one. Robert Matthews who is my heart and my joy has always been ther for me. Two years have passed we are now planting another church 500 miles away. I am concerned about our board for I pray that it will continue to help new believers and laity and pastors who are struggling. I pray that we will reach out with love. I pray that we will lift up the GOOD within our denomination as well as the bad. I pray every month we will take a collection for a church in Africa. And that we will use this board to help our ame family in Africa. It is time for me walk a new path with God, I am excited about planting our new church. I will not be posting on this board for it is time to do more ministry. Thank you everyone for your support, I pray that this board will be a board of evangelism. God bless.

Hmmmmm........I'm no Sherlock Holmes but the I have my doubts about the authorship of this post. I know people are fully capable of making abrupt terminations in their chosen activities but the above post is simply out-of-character for our beloved Mountain Pastor and cyber-Counselor. Like Thomas, I will not believe this abrupt bon voyage until I personally hear from Parson Rogers. QED

My prayers go with you. Please check in from time to time to let us know how the planting is going (and so that we don't have to send a search party to Montana to find you).2 churches in two years??? I am impressed. Perhaps you will be mentioned some day in the same breath as Henry McNeil Turner.
God bless you, your health, your family, and your ministry.

Hmmmm... I am a little doubtful too Bro. Bill. Too much has been done and too many lives have been impacted by our rocky mountain sister for her to be giving an abrupt farewell. My prayer is for you Rev. Denise and your daughter, your ministry and mission for God. What ever you do and wherever you go. Know that God is with you and our prayers are always behind you.Blessings and Love from, Bermuda
