I am interested obtaining an update on the Roanoke Junction to LaFayette track now leased to Pine Belt Southern Railroad. Has the status changed recently?

A little out of date... I was in Lafayette in December 2002. B23 3986 was still behind East Alabama lumber, with a single chip hopper nearby. Weeds and undergrowth were quite high all around. In short cut just to the south, the rails were covered by several inches of loose sand and mill waste. Don't know condition of track (was pretty awful at shutdown, and bound to be worse now), but would take lots of clearing to get 3986 & hopper to R. Jct.
