Our church is putting on a benefit to raise money for children orphaned by Aids. It will be a cabaret and the monies will go to Rev. Mwandu in Zambia for his work with kids and Rev. Higgins in Capetown, South Africa for her work with street children. We are asking for your prayers and we hope our efforts will be duplicated across our denomination. My daughter licentiate and co-founder of our church (age 25) is spearheading this effort. Our town is a special town and over 80 percent of the churches in my town (pop. 30,000)raise money to help churches in Africa and they send missionaries. We can use your prayers for this benefit. Our God is a mighty God! I have a praise report regarding our Aids Benefit. Bridget Wint an extraordinary christian recording artist from Zambia (now lives in pittsburg) has graciously offered to perform at our Aids benefit for Rev. Mwandu in Zambia, and Rev. Mother Denise, words alone connot express enough our appreciation for what God has compelled you to do for the African continent.You indeed have a missionary Spirit. I also thank God for Sister Bridget Wint from Zambia who will be joining you during the unique fundraiser.Pastor Ron and Bridget wint had been to Zambia visiting with us and understand just what the magnitude of the problems that AIDS / HIV have left on the Zambia society.I have a picture of thirteen members of the YPD from my St Thomas AME Church all of whom have died from AIDS and HIV.When one takes a look at the picture, it looks like the youth are still alive and yet they have passed.We are praying for you all the way.
