I was asked to tell children stories about black history month for a group of daycare kids, they were all white. I asked the kids "what color am I?" and they all yelled RED!! there were 25 children. I thought to myself I have a lot of work to do with these kids. After I told the stories. I asked the teacher if she was concerned that the kids said I was RED. She laughed and said "No, they were talking about the red blouse I had on." They were not interested in the color of my skin and all gave me hugs and asked that I come back. There is hope my friends. For with every new generation the disease of racism can be eradicated. Happy Black history month.
