Do we have any members of the Society that live in the Hickory, NC area that would be willing to particpate in a training program on railroading ( a merit badge choice) for young men on the path to earning their Eagle Scout ranking.

I am a veteran Railroading Merit Badge counseler with our troop in Morganton. Additionally, the NC Transporation Museum in Spencer did offer the badge in a weekend-campout program at Spencer in November. We participated, and it was a lot of fun. Our troop had 12 boys complete the badge. I heartily encourage any and all of our members to use your talents and abilities to help Scouts get this merit badge. You are not only promoting the hobby, but you are building the men and leaders of tomorrow.
