I know I am one of the most blessed pastors in the world for Jesus always guides me and God provides for our church. I just received a manual from the Michigan Conference Lay Organization on how to start a lay organization. Sis. Barbara Robinson is the president. This is really a "How to" manual, if you can read you can get a Lay organization started. I want to share some of the chapters in the booklet. Objectives of the Lay Organization; Why do we need a lay organization?; the newly established lay organization; getting started; writing a constitutuon and by-laws; planning your local lay organization program for the year; establishing and funding a budget; planning a workshop; sponsoring a churchwide project; publicizing yourprograms/projjects;fundraier ideas; cummunications; stewardship commitment;lay leadership;qualifications of a lay leader, and there are five more chapters! This is so exciting. If it were not for this discussion board our church would not have such information. And if any body wants to know what connectionalism is. It is the Michigan Conference Lay Organization. Praise God. Somebody say AMEN!
