If by some odd reason the moon was elemenated or didnt exsist how would its absence effect the earths tides???

hmmm, that is a tough one, but i will take a shot at it, since the earth relies on the moon's gravitational pull,the tides would engulf the land cuz there is nothing pull the water apart
