Laws need changed?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Domestic Violence Accounts : One Thread |
Hi, everyone:This is very important for me to read about domestic violence. I am writing my paper about domestic violence from my graduate class so I would like to ask you a question. Please feel free to answer my question as much as you can. Do domestic violence laws need to be changed?
I have learned that only 10 or less percent of all domestic violence in the United States is ever reported. It seems that laws are weak.
Thanks for taking your time to read and answer this.

My first thought about responding was of embarassment and nobody will listen. But due to the brave souls that spoke from the heart, I stand to tell you of a simular personal situation. The law does need to be changed, this isn't the 30's, 40's, 50's 60's,70's,80's or 90's. It's 21st Cent. and things are diffrent, extremly diffrent. Abuse happens to men as well as women and this needs to be addressed. It has been my ex's passionate endover to cripple me in everyway and minimize my role as a father by not allowing me see my son on a consistant basis. My Ex has used the police, court, church and family's to try to assasinate my character. She has a dictator mentalaty that see things one sidedly. Rule or Ruin! Conqour or be Conqoured. She cannot identify with love or compassion. No sense of it. Un fricken beliveable. The safest thing I can do is not say anything to disturb her and see my son on the time that the court has allowed.Prayer's and love for all of the children, fathers and mother who under go such persecution. It's too bad that the Victim turns out to be the Victimiser, but this needs to be delt with now!
