Are you excited about Christmas?greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
I love Christmas so much for I feel greatly loved. God loves us so much that he sent his son to be with us!! I am the most proud to be a Christian during the Christmas season, for we are celebrating the birth of the Messiah. Everyone in the world will have a gift on Christmas day for Jesus is the greatest gift of all. As we light the Advent candles it is a reminder that Jesus is the light of the world, he came to bring us out of darkness. I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of my family this year. I almost lost my foot this year. And I almost died this year. Through it all Jesus stayed by my side and gave me his strength. My online family prayed for me and even called me at home. We are all related because we are God's children. My daughter and I are so excited during this advent season as we read the word of God. Is any one else out their excited about celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Let's praise his name!!!

Merry Christmas, Rev Denise I also get exited about Christmas. The song JOY TO THE WORLD is one of my favorite Christmas songs and it seems especially menaingful this year. The commercialization can drain my JOY, the events of the day can drain my JOY, The Lott mess can drain my JOY but I refuse to let the devil steal my JOY. One of the ministers said the other night at Bible Study that we need to realize that Jesus Christ is no longer just the Babe in the Manger. We celebrate His coming and thank God for sending Him and now we call on Him , the Living God and we need Him now as much as we ever have. He is our Joy. We are doing a study now based on the Purpose Driven Life. There is a section that asks "What makes God smile?" It goes on to say:

It goes on to say: God smiles when we love Him supremely God smiles when we trust Him completely God smiles when we obey Him wholeheratedly God smiles when we praise and thank Him continually God smiles when we use our abilities When I read your posts, like this one, I smile and I am sure that God is smiling also. Christmas songs are beautiful. One of my favorites is the Little Drummer Boy. This has just been in recent years. When I think of giving my best to the King of kings, and Lord of lords, I wonder what gift would I bring. Would I sing to Him, Would I recite something I've written from my heart, or maybe I would just kneel and worship him with tears of joy and humility. I'm so grateful for the birth of Jesus in my life. There have been times, that I have made no room for him in my heart, and somehow, Jesus finds a door and just knocks....knocks...knocks until I can't help but listen and let him in. Those are not times that I'm proud of, but times I'm grateful that he reaches beyond my faults and answers my needs.
I heard a preacher say when we praise God, it is like his chest just gets so large that it explodes like a proud daddy. In the explosiion is blessings for us. Relating to When praises go up, blessings come down.
I wish everyone on this board a very Merry Christmas, and hope our prayers mingle together in throne room as we bring forth our prayers and praises on New Years Eve.
In Christ, Carmen Rose

My favorite hymn to sing during this time of the year is "O Holy Night!" When I get home, I enjoy listening to Otis Redding sing "Merry Christmas Baby...sure do treat me nice!" Everyone have a blessed Christmas and joyous New Year!
