OK, I'm going to get brave and try to post some photos within a thread. Hopefully I won't mess things up too badly! :)Here is my hair before I got it cut.

And here is after...

Here's another after photo. I donated 13" of hair to Locks of Love.

Oh, how nice Sherri!! Now we know what you look like. My hair will never grow farther then my shoulders, then it gets raggie.

Wow, Sherri!! The new style looks really good! Stupid question, but does the sudden loss of hair make your head "feel" differently?? My hair is the same length as yours was before you cut it. Sometimes it's a pain in the a**, but I think I'd feel naked without it :-)!! I admire your bravery!!

Looks like you have a great head of beautiful hair! Some people have way too much hair ......not fair!! :)

Actually my hair is fine and kind of thin, the camera just makes it look better than what it really is. I do feel different now that it's cut. Everyone says that they like it better now that it's short, but I liked it better long. For one thing it's more of a pain to get ready in the mornings now. When my hair was long I could just dry the bangs and pull the sides back with a barette and I was ready to go. Now that it's short I have to dry the whole thing, style it, and hairspray it. Also, maybe I'm just listening too much to cultural stereotypes but now that my hair is short I feel more businesslike and less spiritual.

I've heard other people say that also, Sherri! They say their hair is more work now that it's short!! If they don't style it...some folks look like they're carrying a "mouse's nest" on their heads :-)! Your style looks really easy to take care of. I deal with my long hair like you did yours...wash it and pull it back. Sure keeps the back of my neck warm in the winter!! Sometimes I just pile it on top of my head.

I like it! But I know what you mean about the upkeep. I got tired of it and went with a modern version of a pixie cut. There is absolutely nothing to taking care of it now!

Except maintaining the cut! That's why I like my hair long -- I can let it go until I get around to getting it trimmed! :-)

Hooray for you! It looks great. I cut 12" of hair off my head last year to donate. Now it's growing again (like a weed). It's fun to raise a crop on one's head!!
