The Engine’s Moan – American Steam Whistles by Edward A. Fagen

Good Afternoon.

We have recently released a book on steam locomotive whistles entitled, The Engine’s Moan – American Steam Whistles by Edward A. Fagen, who is also a member of the Horn & Whistle Enthusiasts Group. We believe this book might be of great interest to you. RAS Hennessey recently very favorably reviewed our book for the October 2002 issue of “Back Track”, the UK’s main railway history journal. The following is an excerpted quote from the review article: “Curious, perhaps even astonishing, that the steam locomotive whistle whose sound virtually defined an epoch has had to wait so long for its chronicle. But here it is, a classic sprung full-formed upon us. If you are one of those who “knows”, then this fine work is indispensable; any steam bookshelf without it will be as lonesome as the three-chime’s blow”.

For your convenience, we've attached our URL address http://www.astragalpress.com/astragal_cat_steamwhistles.htm, which provides a brief synopsis of this book. We hope that you might consider purchasing it and hope you find our website interesting.

Please advise what this has to do with the Atlantic Coast Line or Seaboard Air Line Historical Society or information pertinent thereto. Otherwise, I'll have to zap it. Sorry...we generally don't allow "commercials" without prior authorization.
