Hi, Is there a small and simple and(FREE!) editor with which to edit AVI files? For example when a movie is slighty too large to fit onto a 700MB CD-R, I would like to clip some of the credits off and save, to make it fit. That's it really :) Thanks in advance.

I knew VirtualDub perform very well on AVI editing but the only concern is, it blown up to an uncompressed mode, thus large amount of disk are required. Has anyone aware of any good good solution to edit AVI or MPEG file without uncompressed the file ?

Use a program called vegas video. It allows you to convert to any video format and cut and paste. It also allows you to watch the movie before it is converted. It is the only one I know of that you can cut anything on the disk from any time period. But it is not free. It will allow you to convert the file to mpeg2 which is a smaller format than avi, and that will allow you to keep the credits with a small loss in picture quality. Which will be hardly noticable on a regular television.
