Insurance required for public art sculptures?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Public Art : One Thread

My collaborative partner & myself are currently finalizing design development for 2 metal sculptures intended for a public building in our region. The client has inticated that we are responsible for our own public liability etc. even though they become the owners of the artwork on installation. we are purely the designers of the works, they are being fabricated & installed by a sub contractor. Could someone please enlighten us on this issue. Soon!

I AM SCULPTOR FROM INDIA AND KNOWN FOR LARGE SCALE PUBLIC SCULPTURES.

AS A SCULPTOR, IS RESPOSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN OF THE SCULPTUR THAT IT SHOULD NOT HURT ANYBODY. BUT AFTER INSTALLATION, TOTAL OWNERSHIP GOES TO THE THE COMMISSIONER OR OWNER. THE SCULPTOR CAN NOT BE RESPOSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENT AFTER INSTALLATION.WHILE THE SCULPTURE IS TNSTALLED, THE SCULPTOR NEED TO BE PRESENT EVEN IF THE CONTRACTOR OR SUB-CONTRACTOR IS INSTALLING IT.

I have a question. Do you have any information/leads on how to obtain insurance for sculptures?.

Any information that you have would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
