i am trying to convert video that is in the format DIVXMPG4 V3 and sound is MPEG layer 3, to mpeg1 or 2 to be able to watch it on a vcd but the sound does not come out when i convert it, the video converts fine but no audio can you please suggest some ways to combat this Thanks

Well if you REALLY want help, you could tell us what you used to convert it. TMPGenc, for example, has problems sometimes converting MP3 sound. I suggest you follow the guides at http://www.vcdhelp.com for help in converting.

I have encountered some Dat files after converted to MPEG-1 with VCDgear where it is in Karaoke mode (singer voice wasn't appear).

I have no problems doing this if i use Nero 5 to re-encode the vid/audio.Works everytime

Everytime I use NERO with MPEG4 files.. the sound and video are off during the encoding.
