Pregnancy and medication

This is mostly about pian medication (DHC continous, maybe oxycontin/MS Contin)

My partner and I are going to try for a baby and I wanted to know if any of you have experience of this while going through bad pain. I really honestly don't think I oculd cope with no pain relief, and I don't fancy having the finger pointed at me over how I could possibly take anythign when I am having a baby. Medically I can do it, the baby woudl need a few days to withdraw from the medication, but I just don't know how I could cope with the continuous finger-pointing and comments. Are the nurses bad for that at all?

I am not sure if my doctor would support me in continuing my medication either because he seems to live in fantasy world about how much pain I actually suffer.

Can anyone give me any realistic advice on this? Preferably someone who has some experience. Advice like "Don't have babies" or "put up with the pain" will not be well received as there is no way I can go wihtout medication and I may as well die tomorrow if I go through my life without children.

PS. I don't want to be funny, but I don't get a lot of time to come on the web, so if you just want to say "hi" please can you save it for another message? Thanks, Clara.

Thanks!
